Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Xue Shirley Zhao

Hi, I’m Dr. Shirley! I’m a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a proud graduate of Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. I completed my specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, where I served as Chief Resident in my final year of residency.

Being raised bilingual, I am fluent in both Mandarin and English. I take great pride in my heritage and my ability to offer culturally sensitive care. This allows me to explain procedures more clearly, address concerns directly, and ensure my patients and their families fully understand their treatment options.

Prior to relocating to the Pacific Northwest, I spent three years providing dental care to children across Hawaii, including Maui, Kauai, and The Big Island. I feel privileged to be in a profession that enables me to connect with my patients and build meaningful, lifelong relationships.

Outside of being serious about fighting cavities, I am an avid world traveler, a devoted dog mom, and an aspiring yoga instructor. I also enjoy activities like cooking, hiking, and playing tennis.

I’m thrilled to call the Pacific Northwest my home and look forward to making each child’s dental visit fun and enjoyable at Harmony Pediatric Dentistry!

Dr. Dusayant Patel

Dr. Patel was born and raised in Houston, TX, and attended The University of Texas in Austin, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences focusing on Early Childhood Development. He then obtained a Master of Science in Oral Health Sciences at Boston University School of Medicine before earning his Doctorate of Dental Medicine at Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA, while graduating at the top of his class with Magna Cum Laude Honors. After practicing as a General Dentist in Texas, Dr. Patel relocated to pursue advanced education in Pediatric Dentistry. While serving as Chief Resident, he completed his training at Oregon Health & Science University Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, OR. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Patel enjoys living an active lifestyle while exploring the natural beauty that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. He is an avid sports fan, and his love for the arts extends to everything from visiting new exhibits and art galleries to seeing live music. He is a loving and involved family member, a loyal friend, and a dedicated pediatric dentist to the patients who brighten his life each and every day.

Dr. Michelle Chung

Dr. Michelle is a board certified pediatric dentist who is originally from the east coast, but spent the last ten years practicing in Hawaii. She is very pleased to join the team at Harmony Pediatric Dentistry.

After graduating from Dartmouth College, she earned her dental degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and completed a residency in pediatric dentistry at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. During her residency, she was awarded the Pugh Award from the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry for scoring in the top 3% of the qualifying exam.

In Hawaii, Dr. Michelle worked initially with the underserved kids of Maui at a community clinic and then for many years afterwards with one of the largest group private practices in Hawaii. She was on the medical staff of two hospitals, Maui Memorial Medical Center and Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children, where she provided dental care on call in the emergency department and under general anesthesia in the operating room. Dr. Michelle is committed to providing high quality, evidence-based, and comfortable care to kids. She hopes that going to the dentist can be a fun and informative event for both children and their parents. Outside of work, Dr. Michelle enjoys reading, binge watching legal/police dramas like Bosch and Fargo, and making handmade jewelry. If you see her in the office, you might notice her big white astronaut helmet. She wears this instead of a mask so everyone can see her smile!
